WFNB Presents Memoir Writing Workshop with Sandra Phinney in Saint John

wfnbsandraSJ The Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick (WFNB) is sponsoring a memoir writing workshop by popular workshop leader, author and freelance writer Sandra Phinney. Entitled Making Memories Work For You, the workshop will be held on Saturday, April 2nd from 10 am to 5 pm at the West Branch of the Saint John Free Public Library located in the back of the Lancaster Mall. The fee is $125 for the day and includes all workshop materials.

Everyone has amazing stories to tell—personal vignettes about growing up, or particular incidents that are etched in one’s mind. The focus of this workshop is writing memoir and getting those stories down on paper.

Phinney says, “This workshop is suited to a wide range of interests, from folks who want to write and sell personal essays, to those who want to record community histories or write a book.” She adds that it’s also useful for people who are scrapbooking, and for anyone who wants to hand down stories to their children and grandchildren. “Regardless of what people have in mind, by day’s end, they’ll have a bag full of ideas and some writing tools to keep going.”

Cathy Fynn, WFNB Executive Director says, “Sandra Phinney has an outstanding reputation as a workshop leader. Her relaxed, informal style will help you connect with the stories you’ve always wanted to write. She’ll guide you through the creative process and by the end of the workshop your memories will be flowing. WFNB is proud to offer this high-caliber workshop to Saint John area writers of all ages and writing abilities.”

Sandra Phinney’s articles have appeared in over 60 publications. She’s penned three books and delivered several workshops throughout Atlantic Canada.
