The Capitol Theatre presents two evenings with stand-up comedian Mike Ward, on March 30th and 31st, at 7:30 pm. An English performance will be presented on Wednesday, March 30th, while the French performance will be on Thursday, March 31st. Tickets are on sale at the Capitol Theatre Box Office for $35 (for mature audiences). These performances are presented by Molson and Deloitte as part of the 2015-2016 Capitol Theatre season presented by Louisbourg Investments.

Mike Ward is riskier and funnier than ever! British comedian James Mullinger (now living in New Brunswick) will be the opening act for the English performance, while Moncton-born JC Surette will warm up the crowd before the Francophone performance.

Mike Ward is among this generation’s most respected stand-up comics, having brought his biting comedy to mainstream audiences. Mike learned his craft in comedy bars – performing over one thousand shows from 1993 to 1998 – pushing the limits and becoming a true underground star.

In 2004, with a decade of experience, Mike performed his first one-man show, for which he received the Olivier Award for stage performance of the year. In 2007, Mike started doing comedy in English, just for fun, as a hobby. In 2008, this hobby started taking up more and more time, while he took advantage of every opportunity to perform outside of the country. He performed in New York, Berlin, London, Dubai, Paris, Barcelona, Dublin, Amsterdam, Port-Au Prince, and Los Angeles, to name a few.

In 2015, he was given the opportunity to host the Nasty Show, as part of the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. The Nasty Show is the ultimate place where the planet’s best comedians present their harshest material. Mike has shared the stage with top American comedian Louis CK, as well as with Jimmy Carr, Britain’s biggest comedy star. While performing in English could have hurt his Francophone career, it has done the opposite – making him grow as an artist. His show s’eXpose was stronger than anything he had done up until that point and his newest show CHIEN goes ever further than that!

Tickets for Mike Ward’s two performances are on sale at the Capitol Theatre Box Office (811 Main Street, Moncton). They can also be purchased by calling 506-856-4379 or 1-800-567-1922 or online, at www.capitol.nb.ca.
