The Capitol Theatre presents Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada’s Ghosts of Violence on Friday, October 4th at 7:30 pm. This is a chance for the local audience to see this ballet one more time before it starts touring all over Canada this winter.

Tickets are now on sale at the Capitol Theatre Box Office starting at $31. This performance is a presentation of Ernst & Young as part of the 2013-2014 Capitol Theatre season.

Inspired by women who have lost their lives at the hands of an intimate partner Ghosts of Violence represents a touching and innovative platform for awareness and understanding. In this production, one of Canada’s most prolific choreographers, Igor Dobrovolskiy, tackles the subject of domestic homicide in cooperation with Canadian theatre icon Sharon Pollock.

In this performance, recommended for audiences aged 15 and up, Dobrovolskiy creates an emotionally charged choreographic landscape. This project was endorsed and supported from the start by various community organizations, and was since crowned “Best Ballet with a Conscience” by Paula Citron, from the Globe and Mail, and also received the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Award.

Tickets for Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada’s Ghosts of Violence are available in person or by phone (1-800-567-1922 / 506-856-4379) at the Capitol Theatre Box Office at 811 Main Street in Moncton, or online at www.capitol.nb.ca.
