Jean-Michel Correia Exhibit Opening

The public is invited to the opening of the art exhibit Modulation II by artist Jean-Michel Correia in the Capitol Theatre Irving Lobby on Wednesday, September 4th, at 5 pm. This artist garnered a great reputation with many solo and group exhibits in Quebec, France, Belgium, Switzerland, USA and South Korea.

Jean-Michel Correia was born in France in 1958 and currently resides in Magog, Quebec. He has been working in plastic arts for 35 years and is a graduate from the École supérieure des beaux-arts in Dijon, France, in addition to a Masters in Architecture in Paris. He is a Doctorate in arts studies and practice from l’UQAM and is the director and co-owner of the Galerie du Théâtre Magog and has been a contemporary art collector for the past 25 years.

The Lyse and Guy Lafontaine Collection, the Pierre Boucher Museum, the Heenan Blaikie Montreal Collection, the Sin-le-Noble Art House and the Whitehead Collection in Paris and London are among the many collectors having acquired his work.

In addition to his artistic research, Jean-Michel Correia has developed a vast academic experience in numerous French institutions. He is currently a professor at the Université de Montréal Interior Design Department and is Chair of the Estrie region’s Cultural Council Arts and Business committee and is also a member of Sporobole Sherbrooke.

The art exhibit by Jean-Michel Correia will open on September 4th and be shown at the Capitol Art Gallery in the Irving Lobby of the Capitol Theatre at 811 Main Street in Moncton until October 31, 2013. Entrance is free of charge.
