On Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 8:30 until 10pm join Biff Mitchell in Fredericton for a Scary Night Time Horror Writing Workshop in celebration of Culture Days.

A spine-chilling adventure into the art of writing scary stories that make your readers afraid to look under the bed, participants will look at how to build suspense, make their readers’ skin crawl, build weird characters and things that make the heart pound, and create settings that make the ordinary seem supernatural.

Biff will also read his terrifying story, “The Ghost Cow of Killarney Lake”. Bring flashlights, paper and pens or pencils. And dress warm because your blood will be turning into ice. In spite of the scariness, this will be a family event.

This free writing workshop will take place at Studio4Ward, 384 Queen Street (across from City Hall) in Fredericton. For more information or to register contact Biff Mitchell by email at biff@biffmitchell.com or telephone 506-455-2433.

About Biff Mitchell
Biff Mitchell is the author of several novels, dozens of short stories, novellas, poems and an ebook bestseller on book marketing. Biff Mitchell’s official biography is, sadly, “Biff Mitchell lives at the edge of the world. He has no life. He has no friends. Neighbourhood children throw stones at his hovel. At night, Biff throws stones at his hovel. Someday Biff plans to write a book about a man who lives in a hovel that is stoned daily by neighborhood children who—through some magical twist of events—turn into snowmen. When Spring arrives, the man’s house melts.” You can learn more about Biff at www.biffmitchell.com.

About Culture Days
Culture Days is a collaborative coast-to-coast-to-coast volunteer movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. With the support of a National Steering Committee and volunteer Provincial and Territorial Task Forces, thousands of activity organizers self-mobilize at the grassroots level to present and coordinate free public activities that take place throughout the country over the last weekend of September each year.

The third annual Culture Days weekend will take place September 28, 29 and 30, 2012, and will feature thousands of free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to participate “behind-the-scenes,” to discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators, designers and other creative people in their communities.
