Exciting line up for 2012 edVentures in Fredericton – Registrations Open

edVentures 2012 is going to be a great year! We’ve got no less than 40 new craft and culture workshops for our exciting fifth season.

This year’s edVentures Fredericton program is set to run from July 9 to August 17. edVentures Fredericton is still Atlantic Canada’s largest learning vacation program and this year will offer an astonishing 130 half-day, day-long and week-long vacation workshops.

Renowned international photographer Freeman Patterson headlines the faculty of instructors, many professional teachers with the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, who will teach the informal and fun workshops for edVentures.

Also this year are new bracelet and ring-making workshops, courses in puppetry and a fashion design course that is now eligible for academic credit at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD), edVentures Fredericton’s principal partner. edVentures partners include Kings Landing Historical Settlement, the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, the University of New Brunswick and Science East. Workshops take place at various partner locations, with most occurring on the NBCCD campus at Barracks Square in the Historic Garrison District.

For those who like variety, edVentures will introduce a new week-long sampler of one-day beginner craft workshops called “A Taste of edVentures: An exploration of Craft.” Sampler workshops are for those aged 14 and above and include: drawing, raku pottery & glazing, photography, and funky bag making.

edVentures workshops are offered in 10 categories: Drawing, Painting and Mixed Media; Exploring Creativity; Fashion &
Sewing; Heritage Offerings; Jewellery & Metalwork; Mind, Body and Spirit; Photography & Digital Media; Pottery; Textiles; and Youth & Children.
