“We are very excited to offer this health and wellness magazine to New Brunswickers that is written from the best possible sources – expert physicians, nurses and other professionals who make Horizon a leading health-care provider,” says Donald J. Peters, President and CEO of Horizon Health Network. “Our health-care team is passionate about improving the well-being or our population and it is our hope that by reading the articles, people will be inspired to take control of their own health and take measures to make positive changes.”
The summer edition of Vibrant contains a variety of interesting articles on healthy eating and active and safe living. Topics include barbeque safety, information from the New Brunswick Heart Centre about how to prevent heart disease and tips from the New Brunswick Trauma Program about preventing injuries while enjoying outdoor activities.
There is also an article that highlights the work of Horizon volunteers who dedicate endless hours of their time to enhance patient care. Volunteers are important and necessary members of Horizon’s health-care team and many opportunities exist within the organization to become a volunteer.
