Applications Submissions for Messtival 6 Now Open

messtival6 It’s that time of the year again! Moncton’s own TBA Collective is now accepting music applications submissions for Messtival 6, the annual mustache themed arts and music festival happening in Anagance, NB on August 9-11, 2013. Bands, DJs, artists and volunteers interested in submitting an application can do so at www.messtival.ca.

Celebrating its sixth year, Messtival is a celebration of local art, music, food and activities. This event promises a wide variety of music from all around the Maritimes and central Canada, promoting artists, musicians, entertainers and local foods in a beautiful rural setting complete with camping, swimming, fun things to do like yoga, duckraces, a bouncy castle, not to mention lots of moustaches!

Musical candidates will be chosen by a selection committee comprised of TBA Collective members as well as festival volunteers. In past editions, Messtival has presented live acts such as The Divorcees, The Motorleague, The Caravan, The Nuclear, Force Fields, Nerd Army and countless others. Application deadline for artist and bands are due May 15.

Le Pays de la Sagouine Announces 2011 season

The 2011 season of Le Pays de la Sagouine in Bouctouche has been announced! Le Pays de la Sagouine opens to the public from Sunday, June 26, to Sunday, September 4, 2011. This year at Le Pays created by Antonine Maillet: celebrating the 40th anniversary of La Sagouine, a new house band, new actors and characters on l’Île-aux-Puces, dinner theatres, shows for kids, and so much more!

Le Pays de la Sagouine welcomes a new artistic director, Luc LeBlanc. Well known as the actor who has embodied the role of Citrouille for a number of years, Mr. LeBlanc is delighted to be able to contribute in a new way to the world of l’Île-aux-Puces: “Le Pays de la Sagouine is an ongoing love story for me… a place for the fantastic, an outstanding team, and a sincere and loyal audience. It’s cold enough to snow, so why not start planning where you’re going to ring in the new decade?

East Coast recording artist, Rik Reese & Neon Highway are returning to Miramichi to help ring in the New Year at Cowboy’s Club. The country rockers were in Miramichi last June on the line-up with Blue Rodeo at the Miramichi Culture Fest and are looking forward to the always responsive, participative crowds in “the Chi”.

“The people of Miramichi once told us, ‘we like to giver on the River,'”, said Reese. Since then, Reese and his band have inserted that now sing-along Miramichi slogan, “Giver on the River”, into a medley of CCR numbers they are sure to include this coming New Year’s Eve! Continue Reading
