Tom Forrestall is among Atlantic Canada’s best known artists. His works in egg tempera and watercolour are well recognised and widely collected. Gallery 78 in Fredericton has recently received a collection of the artist’s “miniatures”.

These compact paintings are no less compelling for their small size. They exemplify Forrestall’s attention to detail and sense of intrigue and, as with the artist’s larger paintings, they capture the tension of the moment. Come view these small gems along with a variety of other works by Forrestall and many more of Atlantic Canada’s finest contemporary artists.

There are only a few days left to enjoy the ongoing “The Art of Printmaking” exhibit which includes original multiples such as etchings, wood block prints, linocuts and more. Current exhibitions continue to Sunday, March 8, 2015. Upcoming exhibitions include “Bedroom Paintings” by Stephanie Weirathmueller and a group exhibition: “Home”.

Gallery 78 is located at 796 Queen Street on the corner of Church and Queen in downtown Fredericton.

The gallery is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm, Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm, and Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm. Visit virtually at www.gallery78.com.
