Music•Musique NB handed out its 2014 MNB Awards during a Gala luncheon in Fredericton, yesterday (Sunday), hosted by John Leroux, thus concluding four days during which NB musicians and industry professionals gathered to celebrate the best music NB has to offer while also taking in Professional development opportunities.

Twenty-four awards were handed out during the weekend. While some categories were evaluated by a panel jury only (indicated below by an asterisk), some of the recipients were determined by a compilation of votes from the public, members of MNB and an expert jury.

Jean Surette, Executive Director for MNB, is delighted with this year’s results. “I am pleasantly surprised to see how varied the winners’ list is. During certain years, there is one or two artists who grab most of the awards. I believe that having some categories evaluated by jury only probably have something to do with it. It also shows how busy our provincial scene really is.”
