Cynthia Naggar Joins Struts/ Faucet Team in Sackville

struts_splash1_04 Struts Gallery & Faucet Media Art Centre in Sackville, NB are pleased to welcome the newest member of their team, Cynthia Naggar. Joining them from Montreal, Cynthia will participate in a one-year internship as a Technical Associate, and will be leading workshops in media art including Arduino microcontrollers, basic electronics, and computer programming software. She is looking forward to helping members and artists-in-residence push the limits of their art practice with the use of new technology.

A graduate from the Interactive Media program at the University of Quebec in Montreal and a self-taught musician, Cynthia Naggar works with public interactivity using video, sound and electronics in ways that encourage the public to question their presence in space and time with a combination of “pop” aesthetics and poetry. Her project Mille mots valent une image was part of a residency at Studio XX in Montreal and was presented at Avatar in Quebec City, and Eastern Bloc in Montreal.

Throughout the year, Cynthia will organize special events for artists to workshop their projects and exchange ideas, and hopes to expand the electronics facilities at Struts Gallery & Faucet Media Arts Centre.
