To celebrate the Atlantic playwriting community and to showcase some new works in progress, Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre (PARC) will host the third annual Playwrights’ Cabaret in Fredericton on April 15, 2013 at Wilser’s Room in the Capital Complex.
This year’s Cabaret will feature readings by Michael Woodside, Bet O’Toole, Len Falkenstein, Marshall Button, John Spurway, Lisa Anne Ross, Ryan Griffith and Sarah Higgins. The evening will be hosted by TNB Artistic Producer Caleb Marshall.
All are welcome to join PARC members, emerging and established playwrights, theatre artists and supporters of the arts for an evening of readings, as well as for an opportunity to mix and mingle with playwrights from across the region.
“Playwrights often work alone, whether in the early stages of developing a new play or in the process of finding theatres to produce their work. Many of us don’t have colleagues around us to brainstorm with or simply vent,” says PARC Artistic Director Jenny Munday. “PARC believes it’s important for playwrights to stay connected with the rest of the theatre community and it’s always refreshing to hear new ideas.”
The Fredericton Playwrights’ Cabaret will take place on Monday, April 15, at 7pm at Wilser’s Room (362 Queen Street) in Fredericton. Admission is by donation which will go towards supporting PARC’s programs and services.
