Three Summer Student Job Opportunities at Struts in Sackville

Struts Gallery & Faucet Media Arts Centre welcome applications from returning students for three summer employment opportunities:

Summer Events Coordinator

Under general supervision the Summer Events Coordinator will facilitate public events including:

– Exhibitions and Openings
– Artists-in-Residence and their Workshops and Presentations
– Weekly Fundraising BBQ’s
– Annual Yard-Sale Fundraiser
– Other events as determined esp. music concerts
– Assist with week-long Festival + Artists-in-Residence as may be required
– Write Press Releases and contact the Media
– Initiate Own Projects + Present for possible implementation

Qualifications:
– Visual arts studies preferred
– Comfortable working in a Macintosh/Apple environment
– Skilled with basic computer applications eg. word processing, internet
– Skill with specific web applications such as Dreamweaver would be a definite asset
– Demonstrated interest in contemporary art forms

$10.50/hr, 40 hours per week.

This position is funded by the S.E.E.D. Program through the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour. Applicants must register with the S.E.E.D. Program to be eligible.

Festival Associate (Pending Funding)

$10.50/hr, 35 hours per week.
May 28 – August 24, 2012

You will need to feel comfortable working to deadlines, with a wide range of individuals, writing for publication, and supervising volunteers. You would be an integral member of a team effort. We are committed to work experience and opportunities for all persons and would welcome your application.

Qualifications:
– Visual arts studies preferred
– Completion of at least 2nd year of undergraduate studies preferred
– Comfortable working in a Macintosh/Apple environment
– Skilled with basic computer applications eg. word processing, internet
– Skill with specific applications such as Dreamweaver and Photoshop would be an asset.
– Demonstrated interest in contemporary art forms

$10.50/hr, 35 hours per week.
May 28 – August 24, 2012
