Acadian bluegrass singer Paul Hébert will be performing at the Moncton Capitol Theatre on Thursday, May 3, at 8 p.m. Tickets are currently on sale in the Greater Moncton ticketing Network. More information is available at www.capitol.nb.ca.
Hailing from Rogersville, NB, Paul Hébert is one of the few references in francophone bluegrass. The daily L’Acadie Nouvelle even gave him the nickname of Le roi du bluegrass en Acadie (the king of bluegrass in Acadie). Paul grew up in a family that was passionate about music. He first learned to play the guitar and performed mostly traditional music. After learning to play the mandolin, it became his instrument of choice during his performances.
In 1995 and 1996, he was a finalist at the Gala de la chanson de Caraquet, a francophone singer songwriter talent contest, in the singer songwriter category. He has since been honing his craft and released two albums Ravages du temps (2001) and Les pauvres riches (2007). He is a recurring guest on the TV show Pour l’amour du country broadcasted on Radio-Canada, TV5, and ARTV.
Tickets for the Paul Hébert concert at the Capitol Theatre are now on sale at the Capitol Theatre Box Office, l’Escaouette, Frank’s Music, Monument Lefebvre, Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre, and l’Université de Moncton at $22.50 and $18.50 plus applicable charges.
