
East Coast Music week officially kicked off yesterday in Moncton with the Soundwaves Battle of the Bands Finale and two Soundwaves performances in Dieppe and Riverview. Today the music really starts to heat up with many live performances at multiple venues throughout the city.
Beginning at 8pm the Roots Room presented by Warner takes over the Ballroom of the Delta hotel on Main Street. The Roots Room is always a crowd favourite featuring some of Atlantic Canada’s best in ‘roots’ style genres – everything from Folk and Traditional to Celtic, Acadian, Jazz, Country and more. This evening’s event features Catherine MacLellan, Matt Andersen, Coco Love Alcorn, Old Man Luedecke, Kim Stockwood, Gypsophilia, ENNIS, and Gordie MacKeeman and His Rhythm Boys. As well awards will be presented for Folk Recording of the Year, Roots / Traditional Solo Recording of the Year, and Roots / Traditional Group Recording of the Year. Tickets are still available for $22 and can be purchased online.
Celebration Francophone happens at the Capitol Theatre at 8pm. Tickets are $42 and may be available at the door. Join Roch Voisine, Joseph Edgar, Monique Poirier, Lennie Gallant and George Belliveau for an evening of Francophone entertainment.

Many Moncton night clubs are hosting ECMA events as well beginning at 9pm.
Appearing at Plan B on George Street this evening are Ria Mae, Dylan Guthro, Wet Grow Light, The Stanfields, Dennis Ellsworth, Shanneyganock, Mo Kenney, Dischord, Get Bodied, Hero’s Last Rite, Uigg, and Coyote.
The Tide & Boar on Main Street features Caroline Savoie, Irish Mythen, Dan Downes, Terry Whelan, Jaclyn Reinhart Band, Rik Reese & Neon Highway, Melanie Morgan, Les Hotesses D’hilaire, La Virée, Chris Boudreau, and Triple P.
The Oxygen Complex on Westmoreland hosts Rock Stage presented by ShaBam. Tickets are still available for $22 and can be purchased online. Rock comes alive – East Coast style! Alternative, indie and rock bands from all over Atlantic Canada will gather to showcase their best tunes in front of fans, fellow bands, and industry players. The ultimate rock concert venue, with a main stage and all the smoke and lights that go with it. Tonight’s performers include: The Stanfields, Mercy the Sexton, Repartee, Andrew Hunter & The Gatherers, Ben Caplan & The Casual Smokers, The Town Heroes, Brooke Miller, Sherman Downey & The Silver Lining, Carmen Townsend, Chris Colepaugh and The Crew, and Slowcoaster. As well ECMA Awards will be presented for Rock Recording of the Year, and Pop Recording of the Year. And during the ShaBam Experience someone will win a free cool guitar! Must be present to win.

The Country / Americana Stage presented by East Shore Promotions takes over the Manhattan on Westmoreland. Tickets are $22 and can be purchased online still. Performances by Francelle Maria, Sarah Cripps, Stephen Fearing, Norma MacDonald, Tradition, Kelley Mooney, Ashley Condon, Crowdis Bridge, and The Divorcees.
At midnight back in the Delta Ballroom Molson Late Night finishes off an evening of great entertainment with Matthew Hornell, Mark Bragg, Rain Over St. Ambrose, Arrows in the Air, and SpiralCase.
