“The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return” — Toulouse-Lautrec
On Sunday, April 15, at 6 p.m. Imperial Theatre in Saint John is heading to Paris to follow the Bohemian Revolution right into the city’s most thrilling nightclub — The Moulin Rouge!
The evening begins with a Bazaar. Take in booths of all kinds that will surely delight, relax in a café that will be teeming with Parisian chic (and specialty drinks), or have your photo taken inside the Moulin Rouge! A screening of the 2001 hit movie starring Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor will follow at 7 p.m.
Everyone is encouraged to come dressed as his or her favourite character, whether it be a courtesan, a writer/poet, a green fairy, or even a Duke!
At intermission there will be a Can you CAN CAN competition — Gentlemen vs. Ladies. Our host Harold Zidler will pick from our audience, but everyone gets the chance to vote who wins by the volume of cheers!
All proceeds from ticket sales, sponsorships and onsite activities the night of the movie event will go to Imperial Theatre. As a registered charity, not-for-profit organization, hundreds of thousands of dollars must be raised each year to support the many performances, programs and outreach activities the theatre undertakes.
“Spectacular, spectacular! No words in the vernacular, can describe this rare event. You’ll be struck dumb with wonderment!” — Zidler
This is the event you’ve all been waiting for! Tickets are $18.50 and can be purchased online at www.imperialtheatre.nb.ca, by visiting Imperial Theatre Box Office, or by calling 674-4100 (or 1-800-323-7469 for out-of-town callers).
