ArtsLink NB Announces New Executive Director

Sara Griffin

Sara Griffin is the new Executive Director of ArtsLink NB. After a long and rigourous search by the hiring committee, ArtsLink NB selected Ms. Griffin as the successor to Sandy Mackay.

Ms. Griffin is a working artist; she most recently worked on the large re-animation of the Fred Ross Mural currently on display at UNB in Fredericton. Ms. Griffin received her BFA at NSCAD University and her professional c.v. includes gallery management, curatorial experience and a gamut of exhibitions in the visual art field; sculpture, photography, painting and printmaking.

Ms. Griffin is a certified teacher. She recognizes the importance of arts education at an early level- she recently coordinated the National Conference for the Canadian Society of Education through Art, and directs a Portfolio Development program at the Saint John Arts Centre. Ms. Griffinʼs work has taken her across Canada and around the world; she chose to return to New Brunswick, to assist the development of the arts and culture sector.

Currently, Ms Griffin is traveling to meetings around the region, working with ArtsLink NB volunteers and partners. She will explore the broad scope of ArtsLink NBʼs work with individual members, arts organizations, educational institutions and all the members with a vested interest in the growth of New Brunswickʼs cultural industry. Ms. Griffin will continue to work closely with LʼAAAPNB to ensure a consistent message is put forth regarding the importance of arts and culture.

Please welcome Sara Griffin to her new role with ArtsLink NB, and support her as she dives deeply into this very important role. We are delighted to have the highly qualified Ms. Griffin working on behalf of the New Brunswick arts and culture sector!
