Readings in Fredericton & Moncton

The Canada Council for the Arts, the UNB Department of English, the UNB Bookstore, and Goose Lane Editions are proud to present a reading from Song of the Taxidermist, a visceral new collection by award-winning author and songwriter Aurian Haller. The reading will take place on March 14, at 8 pm in Alumni Memorial Building Lounge, UNB, Fredericton. Books will be available for purchase and Aurian will be pleased to autograph your copy.

Now in its 17th year, The Attic Owl Reading Series presents poets Julie Berry and Aurian Haller, Thursday, March 17, at La Teraz Gallery, 154 Church St., 8pm in Moncton. La Teraz will offer a dinner at 6pm for those who would like to come early, enjoy good food and conversation, and meet the two poets. Julie Berry is the author of two collections of poetry: worn thresholds (Brick Books, 1995) and the walnut cracking machine (Buschek Books, 2010). Her poems have appeared in numerous periodicals and anthologies including Open Wide a Wilderness: Canadian Nature Poems (Wilfred Laurier University Press, 2009). She lives outside of St. Thomas, Ontario, with her partner, Jonathan and their dog, Guinness. Her four sons have grown and flown.

Aurian Haller is an award-winning poet and singer-songwriter. He is the lead singer of the aurian haller band, whose unique blend of folk, rock, and jazz is supported by Haller’s haunting lyrics. Haller’s poetry has appeared in Arc, Descant, The Antigonish Review, and in his acclaimed collection A Dream of Sulphur. He has won numerous national awards, including a National Magazine Award for poetry and The Malahat Review Long Poem Prize. He will be reading from his new collection Song of the Taxidermist.
