A Night of Poetry: Fundraiser for the League of Canadian Poets

St. Thomas University is playing host to the annual League of Canadian Poets fundraiser on Thursday, May 13 at 8 pm in the McCain Hall Study Hall.

The event will feature several poetry readings and performances by writers’ groups from the Fredericton.

Wolftree Writers, a women’s poetry group, will read from pieces on the theme of dresses and textiles. Slam poetry will be performed by the student group, Stand and Deliver. Other readings will include The Blacktop Motorcycle Gang and a group of playwrights, The Vagabond Trust.

Each 15 minute set will be divided by music from a 5-piece acoustic jazz ensemble. Used books will also be on sale. There is no admission charge, but donations will be accepted.

The event is part of WordsSpring hosted by the Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick at St. Thomas University from May 13 until May 16.
