NB IT Firms Showcased in Maine Silicon East Inc. recently represented New Brunswick information technology firms at MaineTech 2005 in Augusta. "New Brunswick companies were in the thick of the action," said Gordon Wilson, General Manager of Silicon East Inc. "Maine business showed serious interest in our products and services and many potential alliances are being formed." This was the second gathering of the state’s innovative companies developing cutting-edge products and technologies for the 21st century. MaineTech 2005 was billed as the event that would create opportunities for these companies who are transforming Maine’s economy. Business pitched their products and ideas and networked with people who can help them realise their vision. The centre of activity was the exhibit floor where companies and service providers displayed their products and ideas while networking to attract investors, sales, strategic partners and media attention.
Silicon East showcased some industry members representing New Brunswick and made numerous contacts. Represented at the event were CSRIC, FatKat Animations, Atlis Inc., Mighty
Community, I Smart Technologies, Taylor Digital Imaging, Enterprise Miramichi, City of Miramichi, and NRC/IRAP. MaineTech 2005 was hosted by the Maine Technology Consortium including
the University of Maine, Applied Technology Development Centers, Maine Technology Institute, Maine Manufacturing Extension
Partnership, University of Southern Maine, Technology Law Center and Market Development Center. This marks the third trip as part of Silicon East's ongoing business-to-business
activity within the Atlantica initiative. Silicon East is a commercial not-for-profit company dedicated to developing and growing the Northern New Brunswick technology industry. |
