Dream Becoming Reality
by Kellie Underhill
Even if you’ve only just started reading Bread ‘n Molasses,
you’ll probably remember the article about Phantom Street Rods. After all, that was only a few short months ago in November and it was a
big story.
When I first introduced our readers to Gerry Goguen, he had invented the
prototype Phantom and was focused on getting marketing materials finished. The car was ready to roll but his brochures and
website weren’t. You mightn’t think a lot would have happened with his business since then, but you would be wrong
— what a difference a few months makes!
Bread ‘n Molasses may have broken the story of Phantom Street Rods but it didn’t take long for the rest of the press to hop onboard. Articles
hit the newspaper stands in the Saint John Telegraph Journal, Miramichi Weekend, and the Moncton Times & Transcript. Online
at hotrodsandclassics.net an article appeared in showcase place. Kit Car Magazine will run a story in the May issue dropping
on April 2nd.
"I have been contacted by Canadian Rodder Magazine and the Chief editor
at Primedia (Street Rodder, Hot Rod etc.) and Dream Car Garage (TV show)," Gerry said. "I’m patiently waiting to hear
more after sending the preliminary info they were looking for. Whether or not anything will happen with them is anyone's guess."
And then more good news —

Subject: SOLD!!
Hi Kellie; I thought you might like to hear a little good news. For starters,
my website visits for January were 1524! The next good news is that I sold my first car! The buyer found it in Bread 'n Molasses,
went into the web site to check it out, then contacted me . . . I'm on my way!
Anyone who knows about website traffic will recognise the significance
of achieving those numbers in such a short amount of time — remember there was no website yet back in November. It’s
very impressive.
I spoke briefly with Gerry again this past Friday, February 20th,
and he told me a second sale is almost a certainty.
And then he disappeared into the garage where he’s already designing
the next Phantom model and working on the prototype.
You can keep up to speed with Gerry’s progress by reading the Phantom Street Rods Blog.
Congratulations Phantom Street Rods from all your friends at Bread
‘n Molasses!
