Ranger
by Diane Savoy

I said I would never own a hair-dropping cat!

I went with my girlfriend to help her pick out a kitten for herself. They were six weeks old . . . Well, I forgot about the hair, the clawed furniture and all the things that a kitten could get into.

After I took Ranger home I was pondering what to feed her. Well, I need not have worried. My toy miniature poodle of 10 years that never had pups was nursing this kitten, Cookie. Ranger sure took over and Cookie just let her.

I now have all new furniture...hair chesterfield, hair pillows, hair clothes — you name it, all hair...and it didn't cost a dime. Many times I wanted to scream.

He is so big now, 13 lbs., only a year old, and as stubborn as a mule. I am a senior citizen and Ranger has brought me so much laughter. I called him Ranger because he has a black mask. Do I love him...? You bet I do!
