This statue in Rogersville, New Brunswick, is a memorial to Msgr. Marcel-Francois-Richard.

In 1871, he founded the parish of Saint-François-de-Sales in what was then, the community of Carleton. His choice of the Acadian Flag and Acadian National Hymn and Mary as the Patron Saint of Acadia makes him, the official Father of Acadia.

Thus Rogersville is the Spiritual Heart of the culture. Carquet is considered Capital of the culture Acadian.
