Frogs and why I love them
2nd Prize -- Nadine Pesch
Ever since I could remember I’ve loved frogs.
When I was 4 my dad told me that when I kissed a frog he would turn into
a prince so obviously I tried it out and was very disappointed when the same slimy, green frog was sitting helplessly in my
hands. My hands were above a pond so the frog took a long look at me then jumped into the pond. From then on I became more
and more interested in these fascinating creatures.
Then 2 years later (when I was six) I got my own frog and name him Hoppy.
He was a Green Tree Frog. Then sadly 2 months later he died. My favourite frogs were always and will always be Red-Eyed Tree
Frogs and Tomato Frogs. The reason I love frogs is because they are cute, well I think so anyway. There are many people who
think that frogs are green, slimy, warty and ugly. But to tell you the truth that’s not entirely true. Frogs aren’t
warty (well most of them aren’t), they aren’t slimy (it’s just their moist skin), not all of them are green
and they’re not ugly.
Most of them are quite cute and funny-looking. One even has hair!!
Many are Poison Dart Frogs and they come in millions of different colors and patterns. Only one species is see-through and
that’s the Glass Frog. You can see this frogs innards through any part of its body!!! Frogs will always have a place in my heart!!
