Acadian Peninsula RCMP Conduct Poster Campaign to Raise Violence Awareness

The Acadian Peninsula RCMP in partnership with the Department of Family & Community Services are conducting a campaign to raise awareness on the impact of violence in our communities. Part of the campaign is the creation of a poster under the theme, "Violence Affects Us All".

People of all ages are asked to submit a poster, drawing, sketch or computer generated drawing to their local RCMP office before June 1, 2004. The drawings will be posted throughout the Acadian Peninsula and at police offices.

Two of the submissions will be chosen as the official French/English poster of the campaign. The drawings must contain the following:

- not exceed 45 cm (18 inches) in width and height
- have the words "Violence Affects Us All", or "NON! à la violence"
- drawings should be signed on the front bottom right by the artists with first name and community
- all drawings should be identified on the back with full name and school or telephone number.

The winning drawings will be chosen over the summer and used for the November 2004 Violence Awareness Month.

Anyone with questions is asked to call their local Acadian Peninsula RCMP detachment. In Neguac call Cst. Jean-Jacques Arsenault, in Caraquet call Cst. Josée Farley, in Tracadie-Sheila call Cst. Paryse St-Onge and in Shippagan or Lameque call Cst. Chantal Ouellette.
