Cache In, Trash Out

The Maritime Association of Geocachers, in conjunction with the World Cache In, Trash Out (CITO) Day, is organizing a regional event on April 17.

CITO is a mantra for those of us who participate in Geocaching, or GPS-based orienteering. Geocaching is a sport with global participation, and is based on exercise and non-impact exploration of the environment, our parks and protected areas.

CITO is, in a nutshell, a chance for the world-wide Geocaching community to clean up the environment.

In conjunction with other members of the Maritime Association of Geocachers, we have chosen the French Fort Cove area as our location for this year's CITO event.

We have a large number of volunteers who plan to converge on the area on April 17 to clean up the site, haul out as much trash as we can find, and at the same time, bring more awareness to French Fort Cove.

We have the full support of the French Fort Cove Committee and are expecting a great turnout from the Geocaching community.
