Ski Club Thanks Community & Donors for Support

In November, Peter Gadd, president of the Miramichi Cross Country Ski Club, wrote a fantastic article about the club. A lot of people have remarked that they hadn’t been aware of the facilities or what was available, the article really opened their eyes and educated them. So, we checked in with Peter again and asked if he could provide an update for our readers.

He said the ski club opened its lighted trail on January 7th.

"The lights are on on four kilometers of trail from dusk until 10:00 pm. We are very pleasd with the results. The lighting is very effective," he said.

The club’s membership looks promising for this season. Peter said the number was close to 200 and they anticipated reaching at least 300 members if not more.

"The skiing is excellent and the participation has been quite good, both during the day and in the evening in spite of the cold," he said. "We have had skiers travel to ski our trails from Halifax, Moncton and Fredericton."

None of this would have been possible without the support of the community and donors. On behalf of the Miramichi Cross Country Ski Club, Peter thanks everyone who contributed in one way or another to the Light Up The Trails Fundraising Campaign. Here is the list:
