Family Traditions

A Special Christmas Tree
by Joan Cripps

This is an educational and fun tradition to start with your children or grandchildren.

You will need:

Glue gun or paper glue.
Small cards to print legends on.
Coloured: red, green, gold or silver narrow rope or lace.
Articles to go with Legend.

Search the Internet for Christmas Legends. There are several.

Type each Legend on a little card and decorate it with gold, red, or silver small rope, coloured lace etc. I used the hole punch on top and bottom of card, so I could run coloured rope ( that matches trim) through top & bottom of card -- top to hang on tree, bottom to hang article that matches Legend. For example, if you used the Legend of the Nutcracker you can buy cute little nutcracker ornaments at a discount store and attach them to the bottom of the card.

These make a really nice tree for the classroom, each child can read a Legend then hang their ornament on the tree. I made about 60 of these and my granddaughter may use them for her classroom.
